Meghan Is Home!!

My little sister Meg just returned home from serving an LDS mission in Quito, Ecuador. My sister (and Meg's twin), Maddie, and I arrived in Fresno a couple days earlier to help my mom with some last minute preparations. We made sure that the whole house was decked out in Yellow, Red and Blue (the Ecuador flag colors).

 And then we waited at the airport... patiently.  It seemed like forever before we saw her face.

But we finally saw her and the tears began!

(They were a head shorter than her when she left!)
 (this is what happens when you give my brother the camera... this is the only picture of us three!)

It was a happy reunion and we are all so glad to see her back!
Welcome Home Hermana Fogg!!

Feels like forever since I have been on this blog. Probably because it has. Well I can certainly admit I enjoyed my first summer in Utah and am not looking forward to the cold days ahead.  I have been pretty busy and below is just a few things I filled my time with.

Climbed the "U"
 Dressed up all fancy for a vintage car show
 Went to several concerts (this one was for Built to Spill)
 Took a trip to NY with my mom and sister.
 Had my first real slice of pizza.
 Got lost.
And spent as much time as I could in water. I sure do miss the ocean.

Have you ever heard of Stadium of Fire in Provo, UT? Well neither had I until I moved to SLC. It's this awesome firework show plus a band. Well my best friend Jocelyn and her boy were able to score some tickets from her work and they were kind enough to invite Matt and I. It was pretty rad. Plus the band that came was the Beach Boys. How do you beat that?!
 Fireworks + Beach Boys = One Perfect Fourth of July.
 Loved every second.

My mom and youngest brother came into town last week and we were so happy to see them!! As luck would have it, the Fresno Grizzlies decided to drop by Salt Lake also and have a little run-in with the Bee's. So we HAD to buy tickets and invite everyone we knew... well all those who were related to us. Half of us rooted for the Fresno Grizzlies and other half for the Salt Lake Bees. My mom was torn and just decided to root for whoever was at bat (let's just say she confused a lot of people). Pretty sure it was the best game of my life. And Fresno won.
The Gang {except Matt}
(Does he even look 13?!}
 {Probably my favorite picture. Father and Son teaching moment.}
 Go Team!!

Do you want to know what my guilty pleasure is?

Yup. A fresh baguette (the one pictured is the garlic loaf from Costco. Yummy!!) and oil with balsamic vinegar. I love love love balsamic vinegar. Flavored or plain I love it all. The boy thinks it's gross and can't stand the smell so I only get it when I think I really deserve it. Plus when I have it I really can't stop myself and I over indulge... so it has to be a rare occasion.

But seriously. The best.

Matt's siblings came to visit us in Salt Lake over memorial weekend and unfortunately it was a pretty rainy weekend (of course until the minute they left and then it was sun sun sun). Because the weather decided to be so crappy, we decided to visit the Utah Natural History Museum. It is a pretty cool little museum, especially for a rainy day.

I wish they could visit more often!!

Did you guys see that Solar Eclipse yesterday? It was pretty rad.

Had a desire for a bit of sushi... but the truth is that I am not a big fish fan. I have tried to convince myself that it is good... but to no avail. I just end up running outside to spit it out as soon as it touches my tongue. But I found my own way to enjoy the Japanese culture (ya know... for the boy).
 It's called CHICKEN BACON SUSHI and it's delicious!! Seriously. YUM!
It has chicken and bacon and cucumber and rice and seaweed and roasted sesame seeds (those really make such a difference). I made soo much on Sunday... but we somehow managed to finish it.

{Doesn't it look awesome?!}

The boy and I went to the Tulip festival this past weekend at Thanksgiving Point. While it was no Holland... it was still pretty... pretty.

Have you tried baked grapefruit? It's seriously easy and seriously delicious. I have seen it posted a couple of places for a while and I decided to try it today since I was going to have a lazy morning. IT WAS AMAZING! Here is what you do:
1. Halve grapefruit and loosen the sections with a knife.
2. Drizzle honey on top and in the center.
3. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
4. Bake at 375F for 15 minutes.
5. Eat and Swoon.

Yum!
